Don't Blink...

This July, Kasey and I will be celebrating 16 years together - SIXTEEN! But the thing that is far more traumatic for me is I'm about to become the mother of a teenager... How did this happen? Wasn't I 25, like, yesterday?

To celebrate my oldest child's leap from tween to teen we are going to.... Las Vegas. Vegas - for a 13 year old?! Yes, Vegas. It was his choice; he had his pick of Disneyland, San Diego, LA, etc, and he chose Vegas. This may sound strange but if you know Sasha, you understand. He's an incredibly curious kid and since Kasey and I make the trek to Sin City about four times a year, he wants to know what it's all about. Because we're not going to take the kids when we go gamble, Sash took advantage of the "where do you want to go?" question. We are also taking Koll (this is how he has chosen to spell it - much to Kasey's dismay); Oksana has graciously chosen to stay with Nana and Bumpa Ball (and Nana and Bumpa Ball have graciously agreed to take her).

As yet another example of how quickly the years are flying by - my husband is turning 35 this Saturday (Valentine's Day). This is the man who was a 19 year old busboy when I fell in love with him. He has only gotten better with age; as evidenced by the number of women this year who have told me how "hot" my husband is. Yep, he is - eat your hearts out bitches! But he's so much more than a pretty face with great legs; he's a great dad and a great husband. I just deleted a paragraph that was full of mushiness about him because I realized that he would not appreciate my carrying on. I love you Kase. I'm the luckiest woman in the world... I'll leave it at that. Happy Birthday.

Well, I'm an official blogger now. Wow - more proof that I'm evolving (ie getting older). I think that's good? Better than shaking my cane while yelling at the illegal aliens to get off my lawn... (yes we really did have a pack of them come through our yard, more on that another time).
