Cha Cha's Birthday, Rodeo and Spring Break

My little guy is now a teenager. We celebrated in Vegas - a sign of things to come, I'm afraid. We had a nice time - no gambling for Kasey or I though. (We also did not have a camera so we had to buy crappy disposable cameras - thus the reason our Vegas pictures are not the best - sorry.) Sash found $20 on the ground - he developed a habit of looking at the ground as we walked the Strip and he looked at the "hooker cards" on the sidewalk that the illegals get paid $5 a hour to hand out to tourists. He wanted to pick one up so bad. Unfortunately it would have meant his mom, dad and brother gave him grief for the rest of the trip so he resisted temptation.

We returned Saturday night and celebrated Sasha's actually birthday on Sunday with a party at our house. Kasey decorated the cake....

We then went back to school for three days before being off for Rodeo Break. We were able to go to one of my favorite places in the whole wide world, Sabino Canyon. We were able to go again over Spring Break with Nana and Bumpa Ball and we HIKED in. My calves are still killing me! Our vacation is ending tonight and we head back to school tomorrow for nine weeks straight (no breaks - yikes!) before school ends. I am definitely ready for summer and these nine weeks cannot go fast enough. Yet, even as I type that I feel bad for wishing my time away. An acquaintence (a cop) of Kasey and mine was killed while out for a bike ride during one of our beautiful afternoons two weeks ago. He was 27. We were just at a Superbowl party with him and even though we didn't know him that well it has really jolted me. Life is precious; live it to the fullest. I will end before I start waxing poetic. :-)
