A fish out of water

I'm in Michigan, in October, and I'm like a pig in, well, you know. As I sat at dinner with my parents and three of my aunts last night I felt so comfortable, like "wow, this is where I belong." I even FEEL better when I'm home. I need to devise a way to stay here, at least 6 months out of the year. You'd think in this technological age, that wouldn't be hard to do. Short of selling Amway, I'd be up for just about anything. If you have ideas - please feel free to share...
